SimActive Inc., is pleased to announce that Japanese firm Visual Systems Co., Ltd. has acquired its Correlator3D™ software. Visual Systems, one of Japan’s leading geoinformation companies, will be using the product for deriving DSMs from aerial imagery.
“After a thorough study of currently available photogrammetry software, it became evident that Correlator3D™ was the best option” said Seiichi Ohtomo of Visual Systems. “Its generated digital surface models were accurate, exceptionally fast and wrapped up in SimActive’s easy to use interface allowing us to quickly and efficiently meet our project deadlines.”
Dr Philippe Simard, President and Co-Founder of SimActive, stated, “We are very glad that Visual Systems selected Correlator3D™ for its automated processing needs. This sale confirms the value of our technology and shows the current shift from traditional stereoplotters towards autocorrelation tools.”

Designed for speed and ease of use, Correlator3D™ consists of fully automated software tools for the production of digital surface models (DSM) and digital terrain models (DTM), the creation of orthophotos and mosaics, and the detection of 3D changes. Correlator3D™ is significantly simpler and faster than currently available tools. Highly trained personnel are no longer mandatory.
